What to expect
⁍ Sessions are founded on both East Asian 5-element lens of the pelvic bowl and emotions with modern neuroscience and Hakomi somatic mindfulness.
⁍ Sessions are often a combination of listening, mindfulness, somatic self-inquiry and touch. There may be acupuncture, cupping or moxibustion, as well as visceral (organ-based) bodywork. There may also be elements of journaling and creative ways to access the unconscious, such as through tarot card symbology and working with props in the room.
⁍ Our initial session together will be about getting to know you and your pelvic bowl - where you come from, what you’re presently wanting support around and where you wish to go. If we meet in person, I will offer you a castor oil pack while we do our intake together.
⁍ Sessions are collaborative and dynamic in nature. We get to tend to what is coming up and orient towards what you are hoping to achieve.
⁍ You’ll notice that I will invite you to notice your present moment experience within sessions - by simply paying attention to yourself and tracking sensations in your body. This is part of cultivating mindful awareness together.
⁍ Because we are working with a less accessed and often more vulnerable part of your body, part of the work we will do together will include boundaries and consent. Overall, the work will always be permission-based.
⁍ Because our wombs and pelvic bowls tend to store energy, including emotions, you may experience an emotional release at some point in our work together. I will remain compassionately right there with you throughout any releases that occur.
⁍ At the close of our session, there will be time to integrate and you’ll receive home practices, such as journaling, rituals and meditations, to continue our work between sessions.
